Ideas for an Organized Halloween – Roundup Post

Ideas for an Organized Halloween - Roundup Post | Organizedartistry.com #organizedhalloween #getorganizedforhalloween #halloweenorganization

BOO!

If you couldn’t tell by walking around your neighborhood or the local mall, Halloween is just around the corner. I’ve bought my candy and scoured the Target One Spot for cool Halloween pencils and other non-food trinkets. My eldest child says he’s too old for trick-or-treating while my youngest child is still thinking about what his costume should be. I advised him not to wait too long to decide or else he’ll have to get creative or be OK with the Harry Potter costume he wore last year.

What do you do to celebrate Halloween? Decorate your house? Cook Halloween-themed treats? Put on a costume to hand out candy?

Some people love Halloween, some celebrate it because of their kids, and some would rather shut off all the lights in their house and hide in their basement on Halloween. If you fall into the first two categories, read on.

Holidays require preparation and Halloween is no different. Ordering/making costumes, buying candy, shopping for and preparing themed food, setting out decorations all take time. Then there’s the purging of old costumes, candy-sorting, and the putting away of all decorations–lots to do for one ghoulish day! In order to make your Halloween a less stressful and cluttered holiday, I’ve rounded up a few articles for you to check out on the topic of organizing for Halloween.

Awww, I love Halloween. What a great roundup of advice for getting things in order so you can enjoy the fun day!

I just read that Halloween is a multi-billion dollar industry! With all the costumes and paraphernalia that comes with it, people are going to need advice on how to organize it all and it’s my pleasure to provide it!

  2. I haven’t been a fan of Halloween for quite a few years now, but reading your post has reminded me of what I used to like about it. I’ve been turning my nose up at people who already have decorations out, but maybe I’ll just relax and enjoy them instead.

Great attitude–I love to drive by look at how people have decorated their lawns. Before we had kids, my husband and I used to ‘hide out’ at the mall on Halloween so we wouldn’t have to deal with trick or treaters. Now, with two kids and a close friend who hosts a yearly ‘spooktacular,’ we are ALL IN on Halloween. School parade, Halloween bash, friend’s party, trick-or-treating, costume research and creation. And yes, we now have an orange bin in our attic for all Halloween related items. A whole lot different than 15 years ago!

  3. I also love Halloween! Thank you for sharing these helpful articles!

My pleasure to share! There are so many ideas for organizing costumes, decor, and even CANDY–I thought the post should have more than one point of view. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Halloween was always a lot of fun growing up. I remember Trick or Treating with my sister. We’d come home with a pillowcase full of candy. My favorite part was dumping it all out on the living room floor and organizing (yes, organizing!) it into little bags by candy type. We’d then make candy trades because we each liked different kinds.

When our daughters were growing up, we also had a lot of fun with Halloween. They spent a lot of time putting together costumes and making plans. At this point, we don’t do anything Halloween related. We don’t even get trick or treaters anymore because there are other areas in our town that are known for being the best spots to go to on Halloween. Hundreds of kids roam those areas, and the homeowners give out tons of candy for hours on end. It’s quite a scene, and one we used to love taking our girls to.

    • Stacey Agin Murray says:

Yes–pillowcases! I grew up in an apartment building and we would go to all six floors and collect a ton of candy that would last us half the year. I don’t remember, but I probably organized my candy, too!
